# It’s Been Too Long

Track 2 of 17 on *All of It Was Ours* by Boots & Bassline, released 2026-09-18. 3:30.

Two people find their way back to the dance floor after a hard year.

For someone ready to find their way back to the dance floor.

A song for: seeing old friends again; going out for one more song; a friend who needs a night out.

## Lyrics

I nearly didn't come tonight
You said you'd wait, so here I am
First proper laugh in far too long
You said, remember seventeen?

It's been too long
Stay a little longer
We've got more to say
And one more song to play
It's been too long
I know you feel it too
Stay a little longer
I've missed this with you

You went quiet when I asked how you were
You said, it's been a hard year, that's all
I said, I'm here when you want to talk
You nodded and we danced some more

It's been too long
Stay a little longer
We've got more to say
And one more song to play
It's been too long
I know you feel it too
Stay a little longer
I've missed this with you

Next Friday, same place, half past eight
You said, don't let me be the one who waits
I said, I won't, I'll be there first
You laughed and pulled me back to dance

It's been too long
Stay a little longer
We've got more to say
And one more song to play
It's been too long
I know you feel it too
Stay a little longer
I've missed this with you

It's been too long
Stay a little longer
