# Already

Track 11 of 17 on *All of It Was Ours* by Boots & Bassline, released 2026-09-18. 2:59.

Booster seats leave the car; a parent notices the handwriting has changed.

For the person who remembers how small they were.

A song for: watching family grow.

## Lyrics

Booster seats out of the back
Don't need 'em any more
Last week's drawings on the fridge
Look older than before

And I keep saying, keep saying
Where'd the year go

Already woah-oh
Where'd it go yeah-yeah
Already woah-oh
Where'd it go yeah-yeah

Their handwriting's changed again
Different from last year
Reading books I read at twelve
Now they don't need me here

And I keep saying, keep saying
Where'd the year go

Already woah-oh
Where'd it go yeah-yeah
Already woah-oh
Where'd it go yeah-yeah

Look at them
They don't even need a hand to cross the road
I'm not ready
I'm not ready
But I'm proud, so proud

Rewind

Already woah-oh
Where'd it go yeah-yeah
Already woah-oh
Where'd it go yeah-yeah
Slower now woah-oh
Where'd it go yeah-yeah

Already
Where'd it go
